Aanand L Rai whose love for cinema encouraged him to launch his own home production banner, Colour Yellow Productions in association with Eros International has always stressed on the importance of creative processes and people behind the camera as the first vital steps towards good content. Last year saw a very well acclaimed Nil Battey Sannata and a hit family entertainer Happy Bhag Jayegi from this production banner.

This year, the director-producer is also collaborating with some immensely talented directors from across the board.

Apart from working one of the most anticipated films – Rai’s directorial next with Shah Rukh Khan, which goes on floors this year, he recently joined hands with Anurag Kashyap, who will work on two films. Buzz is one of them is an intense love story-musical, set in a small town. Expect a bouquet of versatile genres this year as Aanand L Rai will also be producing director Rahul Sankalya’s Nimmo and a quirky romantic-comedy titled “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” to be directed by R.S Prasanna.

If that wasn’t all, Colour Yellow and director Mudassar Aziz of the hit Happy Bhag Jayegi, will reunite yet again on another film. Another interesting collaboration is underway with Navdeep Singh (of NH10 and Manorama Six Feet Under fame) for a project that is currently in the scripting stage and this could be a totally new genre for the production banner.

Aanand Rai who have always backed great content, will also be co-producing a film with Ajay Rai and Alan McAlex, to be directed by Geetu Mohandas, who’s last film Liar’s Dice was India’s official entry at the 87th Academy Awards.

Taking the association further, if the grapevine is to be believed, script writer Himanshu Sharma who shot to fame and won accolades for his work in the Tanu Weds Manu franchise and Raanjhanaa, may soon be launched as director.

Says Aanand L Rai, “I’m thrilled with the versatile talent we have on board and while we have been associated with family entertainers, we also want to present a gamut of new genres to the audience. The process of scripting, casting, scouting for locations and putting the entire project together is very exciting and the team is ready to start working with these immensely talented filmmakers”.

Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International added, “Eros and Color Yellow have always shared an amazing synergy and this exciting new slate with such talented directors continues to raise the bar in our endeavor to offer good cinema to audiences”.
