Farah Khan will not be a part of the upcoming IIFA awards in Macau this year. The ace choreographer who is set to win an award at the ceremony for her dance steps in ‘Desi Girl’ from Dostana, will instead be teaching Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol to dance in Karan Johar’s upcoming My Name is Khan. The song, which is being picturized in San Francisco, will also “mark the comeback of the famous quartet: Farah, Karan, SRK and Kajol.” The four have not worked together collectively since ‘Suraj Hua Madham’ in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.
The choreographer, who is known for setting her children as her main priority, went on to clarify the situation to a leading daily, “”The awards organisers are presenting me with the award for ‘Desi Girl ‘but I explained that I couldn’t go. I can’t leave my babies for such a long time. I am already committed to Karan for the song in MNIK and I can’t leave my babies twice.” She went on to further explain that KJo had asked her to shoot almost six months ago and either Abhishek Bachchan or director Tarun Mansukhani will receive the award on her behalf.
Initially, the director had allocated eight days of shooting for the song but reduced it four, “Though I am very excited to be shooting with the gang again I can’t stay without my babies for four days. I don’t know what I am going to do,” she said. Quickly, she adds that the song is a “montage” one which will not have the actors indulging in any steps maintaining that My Name is Khan is completely dances-less film. Her most recent choreography includes a hot and sexy salsa number for Kites between Hrithik Roshan and bombshell Barbara Mori.
