Audiences worldwide are gearing up for love, lust and lingerie, with the release of Indian cinema’s hotly anticipated, off-beat romantic comedy film of 2012, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, out in cinemas on 24th August, 2012. A change to the usual love story formula, this sharply scripted, witty and well-acted rib tickler, which focuses on two forty-something hapless souls in search of love and a ‘happy-ever-after-ending’, packs a punch in all the right ways.

Making her stunning acting debut is acclaimed choreographer and director Farah Khan, the tour de force behind Indian blockbusters Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om, Tees Maar Khan, who plays the forty year-old, larger-than-life Parsi Trust Secretary Shirin Fugawala, in search of the man of her dreams.

Cupid strikes, albeit late in life, during a lingerie shopping trip where Shirin meets clueless bra and panty salesman Farhad Pastakiya, played superbly by Boman Irani (3 Idiots, Housefull 2, Cocktail). Farhad, a 45-year-old golden-hearted Parsi bachelor, is a total loser in love. The only women in his life are his dominating mother Nargis and over-protective grandmother Siloo. The world has given up on him, but Farhad has never given up hope of finding ‘Ms. Right’. When Shirin walks in he knows he has met his soul mate – the only obstacle now is convincing his mother!

With an all-star Parsi cast, the film depicts this lively community in an authentic and tasteful manner. Directed by Bela Bhansali Sehgal and produced by her brother Sanjay Leela Bhansali (‘Devdas’, ‘Black’, ‘Rowdy Rathore’), the film dissects the bittersweet and often hilarious emotions of finding true love and happiness as you age.

Both Boman Irani and Farah Khan shine in their roles and create truly memorable comic moments. The supporting cast features acclaimed performances by Kavin Dave, Shammi, Kurush Deboo and Daisy Irani.

Get ready to fall in love (and lust) with this year’s hugely quirky, sweet, and must-see rom-com film, ‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi’, releasing in cinemas on the 24th of August 2012.
