Farah Khan has expressed her sheer joy of the song ‘Manwa Laage’ from her upcoming film Happy New Year getting over 3 million views on YouTube. At press time, it had 3,764,736 views and well on its way to 4 million! Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh, the romantic number has acquired huge popularity in a short space of just 4 days. The video has been picturized on Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, with the rest of the cast who include Boman Irani, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah appearing in the backdrop.
Speaking about the success of ‘Manwa Laage,’ Farah mentioned the following in a statement. “I am ecstatic! It’s the first song we recorded two years ago. Arijit (Singh) was relatively lesser known then,” said the director and choreographer. Vishal-Shekhar and Irshad Kamil have done a fabulous job and I am happy that people are also loving the picturisation of the song.”
Adding to the comments was lyricist Irshad Kamil, who penned the lyrics for the song. “It reaffirms my belief that when simple words come straight from the heart they seep into the hearts effortlessly. I want to thank listeners for the love they have shown towards ‘Manwa Laage’ as they are the true judge of a creation.”
