For the upcoming Wazir, directed by Bejoy Nambiar the cast includes two great actors Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar.
In a recent interview, Farhan gave a sneak peek about the characters they would be playing, “Mr Bachchan plays a paralyzed chess grandmaster in the movie and I will be seen playing an ATS officer. It is a very refreshing and different kind of role and something which I have never portrayed before.”
The actor had to once again, after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, transform his body and go on a rigorous workout schedule his spokesperson said, “Farhan had gone through a major major transformation to play the role of Milkha Singh and he was more than determined to get the perfect look for his character in Wazir. He would be seen playing an ATS cop which required him to look fit and muscular. Farhan went through very strict training for it. Till the shoot of the film completes Farhan will be on this workout regime and in his new look.”
He told PTI, “I am playing an ATS cop and for that I felt being too lean will not look right. Whenever I meet them they are slightly tougher. I had to put on seven kgs for the film. I did power and endurance training and changed my diet to put on weight. There are few people in Mumbai who are my friends. I did speak to them for few things like the training they go through before they become an ATS inspector. I also checked the posture and body language.”
The film is in production now and about working with the esteemed actor Farhan said, “Giving his stature, initially, I was anxious to share the screen with a megastar. But as we have started shooting, I realised he is a very friendly co-actor. He has a charismatic personality and maintains easy atmosphere on sets. Once, you start interacting with him, he makes you feel very comfortable.”
Adding to PTI, “It’s great to work with somebody like him and I am a huge admirer of his work. To get an opportunity to do a film where we are spending a lot of time, is very exciting for me.”
Shot mostly in Delhi, the Vidhu Vinod Chopra produced drama Wazir is set for release in the middle of 2015.
