The multi-talented Farhan Akhtar is the man of the moment according to GQ (Gentlemen’s Quarterly) magazine and they feature him on the cover of their January edition. In the magazine, the star of Rock On!! talks about his love of movies, “I must have been the only kid in the world who knew about and loved movies so much that I would wake up early for school, just so I could watch a little bit every day,” he says, “I had this romantic relationship with film. I was always watching something and collecting movies — tapes, then LDs when they came and now DVDs. There has never been anything else that I wanted to do.” Farhan will soon be appearing as the lead in Kartik Calling Kartik.
Farhan’s TV show, Oye! It’s Friday! is also riding high at the moment and this week features Priyanka Chopra. Farhan directed Priyanka in Don and it’s clear they have an easy relationship with Priyanka happily getting involved in Farhan’s pranks and taking up his challenges including singing and playing the drums. Oye! It’s Friday is broadcast on NDTV Imagine in the UK on Freesat and Sky.
Before launching onto the small screen, it’s emerged that Farhan sought the advice of SRK regarding the financial parameters for such a decision. SRK spoke to him freely and also gave him lots of advice regarding things such as presentation and make-up which work differently on the smaller screen than the big screen. SRK is himself planning on launching a new TV production company.
