Filmfare has announced their picks for the top ten most powerful people in Bollywood for 2007. Based on a survey conducted by AC Nielsen, Filmfare then choose their top ten for the Filmfare Power 2007. AC Nielsen polled people from all fields of the industry including: actors, technicians, financiers, distributors, exhibitors and photographers. The criteria for the winners included not only box office draw but also many other factors that had not only actors but producers and music directors appearing on the list.
Sitting at number 10 was Karan Johar, with Rani Mukerjee and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan just above him at number 9 and 8 respectively. The number 7 spot was given to Amitabh Bachchan and ahead of him Salman Khan and A R Rahman came in at 5 and 6. Though the release of Jodhaa Akbar was delayed until 2008, the high anticipation for the film had Hrithik Roshan coming in at number 4.
Akshay Kumar filled the number 3 spot. Akki had a release filled and box office bonanza in 2007 with Namastey London, Heyy Baby, Bhool Bhulaiyya, and Welcome.
Shah Rukh Khan came in at number 2, which was a repeat of his place in 2006. SRK had an excellent year with not only Chak De India but also Om Shanti Om being two of the biggest hits of 2007.
Yash and Aditya Chopra, who produced the SRK starrer Chak De India, are once again number 1 on the Filmfare Power List. This is the third year in a row that the two have been top of the list. They had a huge hit with Chak De India and also produced Ta Ra Rum Pum, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag , and the brilliant Aaja Nachle.
