He may not be frequent in his ventures to Hindi but actor-director-writer-producer-singer (Phew!), the legendary Kamal Haasan needs no introduction to B-Town. However, leaving behind the controversies, his latest film, Vishwaroop does. So here’s the low down.

Vishwaroop will see the legendary actor along side with Pooja Kumar, Rahul Bose, Andreah Jeremiah and Jaideep Ahlawat. Initially announced with Sonakshi Sinha in the lead female role with Director Selvaraghavan’s to wield the megaphone in his debut in Hindi, but several changes to the cast and delays later, Kamal Haasan himself has taken on the director’s cap along with writer and co-producer. Pooja Kumar who debuted in Tamil back in 2000 returns and replaces her in the leading role. Since her debut, she has been doing several English films and a few smaller roles in Hindi like in Anjaani Anjaana. Rahul Bose will essay the role of antagonist and has apparently undergone several hours worth of prosthetic make up for his character that has been through war.

Besides the cast change, techinically too there have been some changes. The music director has gone from Yuvan Shankar whom we last heard in Striker with ‘Haq Se’ to music trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy. The last time they worked eith Kamal Haasan was back in 2001 with another bi-lingual, Aalavandhaan/Abhay, a psychological thriller. Its also said that this film will be adapting the digital format of filmmaking Kamal Haasan has tried to implement for several years but was unable to. Hollywood stuntman Lee Whittaker brought in to work on the action, with Kamal Haasan’s other half, Gouthami and daughter Akshara also in the crew as costume designers and assistant director respectively.

Shot in Tamil and Hindi, Kamal  is set to play an army officer and the backdrop is supposedly a spy thriller along the lines of the Mission Impossible Series but with Kamal taking on that many caps and the star cast, this is sure to be a film to look forward to for its own potential.
