The anticipation surrounding Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan continues to build as audiences are eager to see the story play out on the big screen on April 18th.
The historical drama delves into the gripping courtroom battle that unfolded in the aftermath of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 chronicles the courageous fight led by C. Sankaran Nair, a determined lawyer who dared to take on the British Empire in the courtroom.
Based on the book The Case that Shook the Empire: One Man’s Fight for the Truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre by Raghu and Pushpa Palat, the riveting narrative explores Nair’s legal battle against Sir Michael O’Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab and one of the key figures behind the massacre. Akshay Kumar steps into the role of Nair, while R. Madhavan plays his formidable opponent in court. Ananya Panday also stars as a fellow lawyer.
The makers dropped the film’s powerful first song, ‘O Shera – Teer Te Taj (Film Version)’ to ramp up the excitement and give insight into the drama. The song is already a big hit and hailed by fans as “pure fire.” In fact, the song was trending on YouTube and has hit over 16 million views, which does not count the numbers from the streaming platforms.
Composed by Sangtar, with lyrics penned by Sukhwinder Amrit, ‘O Shera’ is performed by the soulful trio of Manmohan Waris, Kamal Heer, and Sangtar.
