For his new Apoorva Lakhia film, Salman Khan has quit alcohol and is losing weight to play a soldier in the historical project.

The recent backlash against Salman Khan for his alleged unprofessionalism has had its remedial effect.

Salman is now ready to shoot his next film, a true-life war saga Battle Of Galwan directed by Apoorva Lakhia which has already been shot for one schedule. Salman has now agreed to complete the rest of the film in one long schedule.

Battle of Galwan is set during the Indo-China War of 1962. To play the true-life soldier Salman needed to exercise a discipline which the producers felt the star, with his self-designed clock and routine, would not manage.

Things are radically different now. According to a source close to the project, Salman has changed his style of working.

A source close to the project informs, “He won’t arrive at 9.30 am for the morning shift. But if he says he will be there for the afternoon shift at 2 pm, he will be there. In fact Salman has been reporting on time for the Battle of Galwan. He was also been asked to quit alcohol and shed weight, and he is doing both. We have never seen Salman so dedicated to part in a long time. The last time he worked so hard to get into character was for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Sultan. In that, he had to get out of shape, in Battle of Galwan he has to get into shape, and he is nearly there.”

Let us hope the recent rap on the knuckles would have a permanent effect on Salman Khan’s sense of professionalism.
