With sadness we report that G. Srinivasan, brother of Mani Ratnam, died May 27th in a tragic accident in Halan, 14 kms from Manali in Himachal Pradesh. He was there on vacation with his family and tragically while they were on a hike, he fell into a 100-foot deep gorge. His body has now been flown to Chennai for the last rites.
He was the producer of the Mani Ratman directed, critically acclaimed films: Iruvar (1997), Kannathinmuthanittal (2002), Yuva (2002), and Guru (2007).
He is survived by his wife Sandhya Lakshman and their 3 daughters. He was only 49 years old.
