Bollywood heavyweight Subhash Ghai has wasted no time in snapping up the Delhi and Uttar Pradesh distribution rights for Karan Johar’s upcoming film I Hate Luv Storys. Reportedly, Ghai purchased the rights from UTV through his company Mukta Arts for Rs 3.5 crore.
Subhash Ghai is reported to be very impressed by the chemistry that Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor share onscreen in IHLS, seeing the jodi as a definite winner at the box office. “They’re like Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit, a pair that has terrific chemistry and will sustain.”
The deal was confirmed by Subhash Ghai’s cousin Sanjay, who said: “We were thinking of buying the rights of this film for a month and a half now… I think I have bought it for a very economical price. We run many cinemas in the North. We should be doing very good business with this purchase. I shall recover my money in the first week itself.”
