All Aamir Khan fans are desperately waiting to see the Hindi-version of Ghajini based on British director Christopher Nolan’s award-winning movie, Memento. Unfortunately, we will all have to wait just a little bit longer as production has ground to a halt following an accident to our action hero, Aamir.
Filming in Hyderabad, he pulled a hamstring – one of the most painful things that can happen to athlete, as it produces a pain that runs all the way up your body and ricochets in your head. Aamir can’t do anything for a while except sleep and rest until the swelling, at least, begins to subside.
The accident happened in a scene where Aamir had to lift the big bad guy and throw him against the wall – it didn’t quite go according to plan. “All I can say right now is that the filming is stopped. We don’t know when it will resume,” said the publicist, “The doctors have asked him to take it easy.”
Aamir’s wife, Kiran Rao, has left for Hyderabad to be by his side.
The incident will be a great disappointment for Aamir who has worked 12-hours-a-day to keep the production on track – a production for which he’d been working out for 3-4 hours every day for up to 18 months so he could be absolutely credible in the action scenes – “Mr Perfection” all the way.
But the delay, though not unbearable, will be frustrating for his fans as well. Following Taare Zameen Par, arguably the best movie of last year, the remake of this mega-hit Tamil film was eagerly awaited by all.
