If there is one project in tinsel town that is creating hype, then it has to be the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster, Ghajini. The movie which originally starred South superstar Surya (who played Ajay’s character in Tamil Yuva), Asin and Nayantra is being remade by its original director A.R. Murugadoss.
The best in the business are being recruited for this project. Be it the best music maker in Indian Cinema, A R Rehman or the hottest lyricist around Prasoon Joshi. But, that’s not all. Aamir Khan, the forever aspiring perfectionist is all ready and hyped up to endorse this project as the male lead. Also, it has been reported that he has already shot one or two scenes of the film.
However, the male hero is not the subject of controversy surrounding this project. It’s commonly known that Aamir Khan has to be the choosiest Khan of the lot which is very much apparent in the heroine selection of this project. The movie requires two female leads and hell has broken loose in order to finalise these two leading ladies. No one knows yet if it’s the director or the influence of Aamir that is generating this fiasco.
Ayesha Takia was the first actress to be signed for the role of Asin’s in the project. Although media reports that Ayesha Takia was shown the door due to unprofessional behaviour. An unexpected professional nature for an actress who has just won much critical acclaim and various awards for her fantastic performance in critically acclaimed Dor.
Then word was that the latest sensation of Indian Cinema, Kangana Ranaut was signed for the role. However, similar to Ayesha’s case, Kangana didn’t proceed much further into the project. Some say it was because she spoke prematurely about the project to outside parties, other say it might have been date issue. Although, whatever the reason may be the final result is that she no longer is part of Ghanjini remake.
There was also talk that Priyanka Chopra was roped in for the project but no final word was received. And not much later, media sources reported that the original female lead of Ghajini, Asin, is starring in the remake.
An official announcement is yet to be made informing whether Asin will be starring in the remake or not. And if she is who will be the second leading lady?
Now, this has to one project that has caused the most drama amongst heroines in the past few months. Audiences will have to wait and see who will appear on screen with Aamir in this much talked about project.
