One the most eagerly anticipated films and performances this year is Aamir Khan in Ghajini. The film directed by A.R. Murugadoss is a remake of the Tamil version of the same name. The film also stars Asin and Jiah Khan. The promo was released yesterday and it shows that Aamir is back but in a totally new avatar. Not only in character but that first poster showed nothing of how much he has changed his body and look for this role.

The promo at first lulls you to thinking you are going to be seeing a typical Bollywood film. There are gorgeous shots of Asin, and a simple humming melody. Then Aamir walks into the frame and you see he is definitely not the same Aamir of Rangeela. His body alone is one to make everyone sit up higher in their seats with the washboard abs and that chest. Then halfway through the minute long promo it changes completely and you see the Aamir of the poster. It is dark and full of menace. The tagline reads, “This December, forget everything, remember Ghajini.”

At the release of the trailer Aamir said, “After Fanaa (2006), Ghajini will be my first commercial entertainer in a long time. It will also be my first out and out action film.”

About that incredible body transformation Aamir said that it took a lot of hard work everyday, “After I finished Taare Zameen Par, I started to work on my look for the film. It was a tough time when I had to work on my body for nearly three to four hours a day.” Adding, “It was only after 2-3 weeks of training that I realised what I had gotten into. I realised it was more of a mental game than a physical one.”

The mind-blowing trailer is just a glimpse of the film that is scheduled to release on December 25th. Be sure and mark you calendars now!
