Top A-list actress Rani Mukherjee is 31 years old today. Rani, of course first grabbed everyone’s attention with her wonderful performance in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai for which she won a Best Supporting Actress Award. Even then, it was clear she was something special. Further commercial and critical successes followed including Saathiya, Yuva, Hum Tum, Paheli, Mangal Pandey: The Rising and her exceptional performance in the groundbreaking Black.
Rani has a couple of very interesting movies coming. In the first, the title of which has still to be decided by director Anurag Singh, she plays a cricketer opposite Shahid Kapur and with both the delightful Rakhi Sawant and Sherlyn Chopra in support. Then, there’s the fascinating idea of an animated version of KKHH called Koochie Koochie Hota Hai in which the original stars, Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani will be providing the voices.
Rani has been working really hard for her role as a cricketer as trainer Satyajit Chouria confirms, “She does alternate day’s exercise which includes yoga and weight training and its mainly loose weight training, floor exercises and freehand exercises. She also works with dumbbells and her working habits are divided into two schedules. She sweats it out for one and a half hours.”
With such an interesting cast and a crisp script, this could be the next big hit in Rani’s portfolio.
