It is a known fact that Sajid Nadiadwala, who is among the top ten Bollywood filmmakers, likes to work on his birthday. He prefers enjoying the day doing what he loves, i.e. being on the sets.
This year too, Sajid, who has stepped into the director’s shoes with Kick, was reported to be on the sets. Busy shooting a song sequence with lead actors Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez, the director had no clue of the plans that were being put in place to celebrate his big day, in the vicinity.
A spokesperson for the film confirmed, “A red carpet was rolled out in the evening, as we waited for Sajid sir to finish the shot and go to his vanity. The entire place was lit up with big lights, sky lanterns and lots of balloons.”
Sajid’s family, mother Shafaat, beautiful wife Warda, kids Subhan and Sufyan surprised the director by visiting the sets, to wish him happiness. A triple-layered cake baked specially for the evening, was said to be in a shape of a huge movie camera.
The source further mentioned, “Sir was stunned as he walked out. Flooded with flowers and gifts, he happily posed with everyone, for pictures. He and Salman were engrossed giggling about past memories with his family and Jacqueline.”
The team is currently shooting in Filmcity, Mumbai, for the much talked-about project, as friends Sajid and Salman come together for an action-comedy drama, after a gap of years. The producer is determined in continuing to deliver good cinema, beginning with his first venture of the year, Highway directed by Imtiaz Ali releasing this Friday, February 21. Being one of the top independent producers, Sajid prefers to choose innovative and different genres for his projects. His calendar is further marked with films like 2 States, Heropanti, Kick, Phantom and an untitled film.
