Dreamworld, a popular theme park in Australia was recently used in filming scenes for Sajid Khan’s Hey Baby. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Boman Irani and Vidya Balan and is inspired by Hollywood’s Three Men and a Baby. Much of the $80 million film is being shot in and around Australia.
The amusement park was background to several scenes being shot there much to the delight of watching crowds. Some of them even got to be extras when director Sajid Khan asked the lively summertime crowd to join in for a scene being filmed on Main Street! The crowd responded enthusiastically and had loads of fun being the extras!
Three of the movie’s elaborate scenes were filmed at the park’s Nickelodeon Central. This area of the park has many brilliantly colored rides and attractions and is the perfect backdrop for a Bollywood movie. The stars along with 40 extras, filmed the scenes among the rides and in the area that was specially converted into a movie set.
Next up was a scene shot at Wiggle’s World. The Wiggles are hugely popular children’s entertainers in Australia. This part of the park is designed especially for the little ones and many young faces were crowded around to see this exciting sight! The Wiggle House was a perfect place for the shots to be canned for a scene about respecting your elders and good manners.
The last scene filmed brought Akshay Kumar’s daredevil side out again! It was shot on the Flowrider, a stationary wave ride. According to one report, “Akshay Kumar proved to be the Prince of the Pipe taking Australia’s hottest new board sport in his stride.”
The others in the scene seemed to master the wave too and this will certainly be a sight to see!
These scenes shot at the park certainly show that Hey Baby is sure to be an exciting and not your run of the mill Bollywood film. We cannot wait to see the final picture when it comes to theaters!
