While 1st May is commonly celebrated as May Day, in India, it is also recognised as Gujarat Day. The world of Bollywood, Hindi Television and theatre, has many successful Gujarati’s, but one name that instantly comes to mind is the multi-talented Himesh Reshammiya.
We often introduce Himesh as a Composer, Singer, Actor and Producer but many are not aware that Himesh actually began his career as a television producer. Himesh was not only composing the music for his serials, but he also wrote the screenplay and the story too! During the time Himesh spent as a television producer, he met superstar Salman Khan and as they say, the rest is history!
It was Salman who gave Himesh his first break as a Music Director in the film Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. Himesh gave us the melodious ‘Oodhli Chunariya, Maine Tere Naam Ki…’ a title song which is fondly loved by all music lovers even today. Himesh and Salman have given a string of musical hits together, including evergreen albums like Tere Naam and Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge.
After venturing into Music Direction, Himesh became a Singer with the super hit song Aashiq Banaya Aapne, after which there was no turning back. Himesh acted in his first, super hit film Aap Kaa Surroor the movie in 2007 and continued as an actor with films like Karzzzz, Radio, DamaDamm and the successful The Xpose in 2014.
According to MovieTalkies.com, “it is very clear that time and again, Himesh has proved that he is a man of multiple talents. Yet, despite all the success, Himesh remains rooted to his beloved Gujarat.”
Himesh shared his wishes on Gujarat Day for wishing his fans and reminding all that he is extremely proud to be a Gujarati.
This is a wonderful gesture from such an esteemed and multi talented Bollywood celebrity.
