“It’s like the Rajendra Kumar replacing Dilip Kumar in Sangam,” a close friend of Deepika Padukone says, shedding light on the raging controversy over the actress’ ouster from Sandeep Vanga’s next project entitled, apparently, Spirit.
Ever since then, Vanga, true to his volatile nature, has been taking angry swipes at Ms Padukone, even accusing her, indirectly, of “outing” the film’s script.
However, a close friend of Ms Padukone has another story to tell. “A lot is being said about Deepika making unreasonable demands. But that is not Deepika. As for revealing the film’s subject. To whom? And why would she do that? The only demand—and it sounds pretty reasonable—she will make for her all future projects is that she will work only certain hours, keeping in mind her child’s timetable.”
The friend describes the director’s insinuated allegation that the Piku actress has leaked Vanga’s script as “absurd to the point of insanity.”
“This is not the Deepika Padukone we know. This is a case of mistaken identity,” says the friend.
