That Vishal Bhardwaj loves to remake Shakespeare books into Hindi films is a now a known fact. In the past, the one of a kind filmmaker has gone on to make Macbeth (Maqbool) and Othello (Omkara) both of which received mass critical acclaim and immense audience appreciation. Two down and one more to go, Bhardwaj has decided to take on Shakespeare’s Hamlet as his last Shakespearean film. The director had vowed that he would only make three of Shakespeare’s books and then forever leave Shakespeare alone. Hamlet will conclude his tribute to Shakespeare.

To do the honors, it is none other than Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who have come together to take on the lead roles. Roshan will play the Prince of Denmark while Ash will enact the role of Ophelia. While they have not confirmed they will be a part of the film, it is Vishal’s desire to feature both the talented stars in his remake and has already approached the duo.

According to sources, on many occasions in the past, Bhardwaj had approached Hrithik and Ash to work with him but it just never worked out. He is dead keen on making Hamlet happen with the two of them.

Coming up next for Vishal is the much awaited Saat Khoon Maaf which features Priyanka Chopra in a lead role with a number of actors who play her husbands including, John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Irrfan Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Annu Kapoor, Vivaan Shah and Aleksandr Dyachenko. The film is a remake of the popular Ruskin Bond novel Susanna’s Seven Husbands and is slated for a February 2011 release.
