Besides his incredible acting talent, Hrithik Roshan is also known for his outstanding dancing ability. However, because of an injury to his knee and his work for the amazing Jodhaa Akbar, audiences have had to wait to see him dance again on the silver screen. But soon the wait will be over because he has done an item number for the song ‘Break Free’ in the film Krazzy 4.
Hrithik said, “Call me item boy or anything else, I really don’t care. I haven’t danced for years. I was busy shooting for a film in which I didn’t get to dance at all and then I got injured. I’m only too glad to put on my dancing shoes and be able to groove to one of the best dance tracks I’ve listened to in a long time.”
The song also has another incarnation with Shah Rukh Khan rocking out to the beat, “Shah Rukh is extremely generous and I’m grateful to him for the respect he has shown my father. I was to do the number initially, but couldn’t because of my injury. Dad approached Shah Rukh then, and he obliged almost immediately.”
Shah Rukh has said that he felt Hrithik would be better in the song. However Hrithik disagreed said, “While Shah Rukh’s song is a part of the film, mine will come with the end credits. About me doing more justice to the song, Shah Rukh is just being humble about it. A thousand dance steps of mine won’t match the personality that is Shah Rukh Khan.”
He went on to say, “A lot of people have complimented me on my dancing. But I was never too sure, nor satisfied; I wanted to do better. I always took my body for granted. Then I injured my knee and was on crutches for a month. There was a possibility that I wouldn’t dance ever again. I’m grateful to God that I recovered and recuperated only to return to the dance floor for my dad’s film. I’ve never enjoyed dancing so much!”
