Hrithik Roshan is currently working on his next project Kites directed by Anurag Basu. The film is shooting on location in New Mexico and also stars Kangana Ranuat and Bollywood newcomer Barbara Mori. Basu said, “The schedule is 80 days and we’re shooting in New Mexico, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. New Mexico has a vast landscape and is famous for its geography. Since the film’s name suggests a wide area, this is perfect for us. For the city shots, we’ll be filming in Albuquerque.”

About Hrithik’s character he would not reveal much but did say, “Hrithik’s character will be dashing and energetically crafted. He plays the role of a smart Las Vegas boy who can defraud anyone.”

Going on to say that Hrithik will have a distinctive style in the film, “I think after his ethnic look in Jodhaa Akbar this look will be also be remembered by all his fans. His look will be European and will be seen mostly wearing hats.” Rumors are that in Kites we will not only see Hrithik dance, choreographed by Flexystu, we are also going to hear him sing and in English no less.

Kites has a huge budget of Rs 50-60 crore and Basu is a bit worried about having to live up to all the hype but believes that the film will be a big hit when in it releases in 2009.

In other Du news, there have been rumors circulating that Hrithik Roshan would be working with Sanjay Lee Bhansali on a new project. Apparently the two have been in talks for some time but now the project is a no go.

A source said, “Bhansali has been in talks with Hrithik for three-four years for various projects, but Hrithik is very particular when it comes to matters professional. After Saawariya, Bhansali and Hrithik have been in talks, Hrithik even went to the director’s house for meetings, and just when everything seemed set, he backed out.” That the two were even in talks in still unconfirmed but apparently Hrithik told Bhansali that he would not do the film.
