On Thursday, October 2nd, Goldie Behl’s fantasy adventure film Drona will open in theaters. The film stars Priyanka Chopra, Jaya Bachchan, Kay Kay Menon and in the title role Abhishek Bachchan. Recently Abhishek spoke a bit about the film to Taran Adarsh.
“It’s my biggest and best film so far. I don’t speak like this, do I? But Drona is different. It’s the most expensive film I am associated with. Besides, Goldie has executed the subject remarkably,” Abhishek said.
The magical film follows Drona’s journey of fulfilling his destiny and battling an evil wizard played by Kay Kay Menon. Alongside Drona is his faithful bodyguard Sonia, played by Priyanka Chopra. The film was shot on a grand scale, with castles, armies and spectacular special effects. The film also will show Abhishek in some amazing stunt sequences including: hanging under a moving train going 90kmh, jumping between to train cars while they are going 100 kmh and separating and also riding a horse full throttle through a field of mines that are exploding.
Abhishek gives all the credit to Goldie Behl for how the film turned out, “If at all Drona works — and I hope it does — Goldie should get the credit for it. He has worked very, very hard. I am sure, the Indian audiences haven’t seen an adventure film like Drona before.”
The actor also revealed that we might be seeing Drona 2, “Goldie has written so much in the intervening period that he’s ready to take the Drona series forward. In fact, the possibility of a sequel can easily be explored.”
