Rather than take on risky and meaty roles, this newcomer chooses to play it safe in two-bit roles with films like Risk, Good Boy Bad Boy and Chocolate. Though she made a splash with the musical-success of Aashiq Banaya Aapne and impressed in the recent Raqeeb, her career hasn’t exactly sky-rocketed yet. Still, she continues to cling on and is looking forward to her next release titled Dhol, directed by Priyadarshan and co-starring Kunal Khemu, Rajpal Yadav, Arbaaz Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi and Om Puri.

In a recent conversation with IndiaFm.com, she talked about her excitement for her upcoming release. So what exactly is the film about? “Basically there are these five guys Tusshar, Kunal, Sharman, Arbaaz and Rajpal Yadav trying to get my attention. I’m playing the character of a rich girl and these five guys are head over heels in love with me. Besides this, there are other interesting things which are worth watching. It’s a mad cat comedy,” Tanushree explains.

What would tempt this young lass to sign a film with a primarily male cast? She claims it was her desire to work with Priyadarshan that made her sign Dhol. As for her role, she elaborates, “I play a small town girl. I drive a two-wheeler scooty in the film and just out of the college.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound too extraordinary.

She also claims that her dream role would be in an action film and argues, “This is something which we have always seen in Hollywood films. And I feel Indian Filmmakers should give an opportunity to actresses to work in action films.”

An answer most actresses would be shy to give, Tanushree clearly states, “There are times when you come across some fabulous roles which you always wanted to do but there may not be bigger names involved in it. And then, there are these big banners making a film which offers you insignificant role but you are certain that you will be presented in a very good manner. And your hardwork wouldn’t go waste. I think lot of things count.”

And the highlight of the interview was when Tanushree was asked whether she would sign a Yash Raj Film even if the script was bad. Without thinking twice, she quips, “I guess I have been ardent Yash Raj fan since many years. And, always want to be a part of their film. Though there are very less chances of my not liking the script. However, if that happens, I would still go ahead and do that film.” Let’s hope Yash Raj is taking note-if you have a not-so-good script, go to Tanushree!

While the interviewer pushes the envelope a bit and asks what Tanushree thinks of exposing in films, she simply answers, “I have no take on it actually.”

Remember to go check Tanushree Dutta out in Dhol which releases this Friday September 21st!
