Telugu superstar Ileana D’Cruz, who makes her debut in Anurag Basu’s Barfi! , has been in the news ever since she started shooting for the film in Darjeeling. First it was her apparent friction with actor Priyanka Chopra, who is also one of the main protagonists in the film and now if sources on the sets of the film are to be believed, the chemistry between actor Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana is fabulous.
Members of the crew and industry people who’ve seen a few glimpses of the film have all been raving about the performances of the lead cast especially Ranbir and Ileana. A source from the sets reveals, “Ranbir, who’s known to be a performer par excellence had many scenes that have been emotionally intimate without overt physical intimacy with Ileana in the film. For one scene, Ileana, who plays Ranbir’s translator in the film, was supposed to have an emotional conversation with him, just in the form of sign language and expressions since Ranbir plays a deaf and mute character in the film. The scene was performed so well by both of them that their chemistry was evident for all to see in the silent scene and had all of us in the unit, including director Anurag Basu enthralled. Their chemistry spoke volumes without the scene having any dialogues.”
This news comes close on the heels of the recent update that suggested that PC was apparently keeping to herself on the film’s set. Ileana, who was initially very guarded, has now started opening up to Ranbir, who in turn has been sharing with her friendly industry related tips, considering that she is new to Bollywood. Anurag too is reportedly extremely impressed with their work and dedication. Sounds like a happy family, after all, doesn’t it?
