On suspicion on tax evasion, Income tax officials raided the residences and office of Bollywood’s top-rung actresses Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif as well as ace photographer Atul Kasbekar, who is well known for his association and work in the Kingfisher calendar.
Early Monday morning around 7:30am, a team of around 70 officers and supervisors began surprise investigation and searches of the celebrities’ homes as well as the residences of their managers. In the procedure that went on through the day, the IT department stated that it was a regular investigation to scrutinize documents and ensure that the celebs had paid taxes as per their declared incomes in the last year.
Though not confirmed, it is known that while this incident occurred Priyanka was shooting at Mumbai’s studio “Film City” and had to cancel the shoot to rush back home.
While the findings of the IT department are expected to be disclosed post Tuesday, none of the celebs or their manager’s were available for comment.
