Irrfan Khan and Natalie Portman got on so well together on the set of Mira Nair‘s Kosher Vegetarian that they have already pledged to do another film together. “Actors all over the world are linked by a common craving for excellence,” Irrfan explained, “We’re all looking for challenges and glory. But with Natalie, it was very different. We constantly chatted, discussed one another’s culture and shared very warm vibes.”
The short film, set for release on Oct.16th, forms part of the anthology New York, I Love You. “My character’s dilemma is that the woman who was once my wife, has now become a sanyasin, and he has to worship her,” said Irrfan, who recently won the Outstanding Achievement of the Year Award at the GQ Man of the Year Award ceremony.
Irrfan who will soon be seen in Acid Factory, Paan Singh Tomar and Hissss, has no plans to move to Hollywood even though he enjoys the flexibility of occasionally doing movies in the west. “I will never shift to Los Angeles. I have worked my way up here without a god father and I will never give up my career in India because all that I have achieved today has taken years of hard work,” he confirmed, “Moroever, I have interesting work coming my way.”
