With Deepika Padukone’s noisy exit from Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2, the spotlight is on the unknown replacement. For a while, the buzz was that Alia Bhatt was replacing Deepika as Sumathi, the pregnant nomad from the first part.
However, that turned out to be a false alarm. There is a strong rumour that Sai Pallavi is taking over the role from where Deepika left off.
And it isn’t entirely untrue.
A source close to the development informed this writer, “The Kalki team hasn’t decided as yet. It may be Sai Pallavi. On the other hand, they may scrap the role completely.”
