One question that could be taken from ‘the handbook of film making’ could be when promoting a film, what aspect of the film creates the best impact? Well, we can all agree that when a poster is first released it creates an impression in the minds of the public. When trailers and music videos are released, networks and social network sites begin buzzing with opinions. However, it seems Yash Raj are placing as much importance to the basics of their next production, Ishaqzaade by changing the original title.

Fear not, however, as fans will be happy to know that Ishaqzaade was not the original choice of title for the production. It was important that the film’s title drew audiences to the production and represented the essence of the film which is why Ishaqzaade replaced Tewar (meaning attitude in Hindi) as the tongue twisting title.

During filming, director Habib Faisal and producer Aditya Chopra felt that the name Tewar did not fairly represent the film being a love story between two hot-headed young adults. Both began brainstorming to try and include the love story element in the film and finally rechristened the film Ishaqzaade. Commenting on the title change a YRF spokesperson says, “Yes, we had first thought of Tewar as a title, but then finalised Ishaqzaade. It was a collective decision taken by the team. The film is essentially a love story, so the name now echoes the soul of the film.”

The change has certainly been a positive one not only loved by the production team but also the public. A great deal of buzz continues to surround the film with the recent release of music videos ‘Aafaton ke Parinde’ and ‘Pareshaan’.

Ishaqzaade, now set to release 11th May, sees the return of Parineeti Chopra after her debut in Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl and introduces Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun Kapoor.
