In this thought-provoking and empathetic conversation, Janhvi Kapoor speakd about an issue that often goes unaddressed in many households — the impact of excessive drinking.

Highlighting how commonly such situations are heard of in society, she pointed out how people often share experiences of domestic distress linked to excessive drinking, yet conversations around handling it remain limited.

Driven by a desire to create more awareness, Janhvi shared that her work in this space is focused on making the right kind of information and support accessible to people. As part of her association with Amaha, a mental health organisation, she has spent time with medical professionals to better understand behaviour patterns and effective responses.

“One of the most important things I’ve learnt is that you should almost never confront someone when they are in a delirious state or under the influence,” she shared, adding that even otherwise, approaching the situation with blame can often make things worse.

Encouraging a more mindful and informed approach, she emphasised the importance of recognising early red flags and knowing how to respond constructively.

“My call to arms is simple — don’t abuse it. Recognise when you’re crossing that line, and if you see these red flags in someone you care about, understand how to deal with it better,” she said.

With this initiative, Janhvi Kapoor aims to encourage a more aware and compassionate conversation around excessive drinking and its impact — a dialogue that is both timely and necessary.
