If the trailer of the Telugu-Hindi bilingual Jatadhara is anything to go by, then the film will be another knockout success in the supernatural-horror genre on the lines of Mirai, Kantara and Thamma, except for the one glowing advantage which the three films did not have: Jatadhara doesn’t inject comic relief into the chilling conflict between Good and Evil, between the Supernatural and the Rationale.
Visually, Jatadhara is a feast of fury. Shot after shot is composed with an eye for sumptuous detailing. The overall look of the film is intriguing, inviting and compelling.
Unlike many trailers of mystery which tend to conceal more than reveal, Jatadhara pulls out all stops in putting it out all there. By the time the trailer plays itself out, we know exactly what to expect from the film when it opens on November 7.
Says the film’s co-producer Prerna Arora, “Agreed, it is a mystery story. But we had decided there would no secrecy about the film’s content in the trailer. I think we have told the audience exactly what to expect when they make that trip to the movie theatres on November 7. No gimmicks, no stunts, just the story and the audience and nothing in-between.”
The points of conflict between the characters played by Sonakshi Sinha and Sudheer Babu are smoothly synchronized into the screenplay . The plot construction favours coherence and accessibility; so unlike the other recent supernatural-horror specials which whip up a visual and emotional in confounding volumes. Clearly the highlight of the show is Sudheer Babu’s faceoffs with Sonakshi Sinha.
“These sequences will leave the audience stunned,” promises Prerna Arora .
