Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is hoping to have a very impressive cast for his next film Bhairavi. The director would like to cast papa, mama and beta Bachchan as husband, wife and son in the film. The story of Bhairavi is centered around classical Indian music and the strive for success in that genre.
Mehra said, “It’s a project that has been with me for a while. I have already narrated it to Amitji and Abhishek. And they’re on. Ideally, I’d have liked to make it immediately after Aks. But a combination of forces came in the way. I’m ready to do the film as soon as the dates are worked out. One thing is for sure. Bhairavi has to be made with Amitji, Abhishek and Jaya.”
Adding that if Jaya does not sign on, “She has to! I’ll go on a hunger strike in front of her house until she agrees. Bhairavi must be made, preferably this year.”
Mehra is currently working on his film Delhi 6 and also in the pipeline is Paanch Kaurav. “It is a mythical opus, on the lines of Raiders Of The Lost Arc and Lord Of The Rings. It’s a huge film, with an estimated budget of Rs 70 crores,” he said.
It would be wonderful to see these three fine actors together in one film. Keep watching this space for more news about this casting coup and about Bhairavi.
