Looks like the famous feud between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan is causing productions of films to come to an end before they even get started.

Salman’s younger brother, Sohail Khan, was keen on making a remake of Tom Cruise starrer Jerry Maguire, giving starring roles to Shah Rukh Khan and of course older brother Salman. In Sohail’s version of Jerry Maguire, Salman would have been enacting a larger than life character of a whacky sportsman, played by Cuba Gooding Junior in the original, and SRK would get Tom Cruise’s part of an ambitious sports agent.

Sound good? I thought so too… but (and there is always a but) the plans to make the movie starring the two Khans have been called off because of their infamous fight and their current standoff.

Industry sources revealed in early 2008 that there were reports about the script being finalized with only the female lead yet to be determined. However, since then much has changed. SRK became busy with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Salman with Main Aur Mrs Khanna. The plans to start this film were back and postponed to early 2009.

But then the duo had the infamous brawl at Katrina’s birthday party in July 2008, and the plans to make the famous film went up in smoke in front of Sohail’s eyes.

Sohail Khan’s spokesperson stated, “I don’t think in the current scenario [between the two Khans], Sohail can make the film. He is now presently concentrating on his other productions Kisaan, Main Aur Mrs Khanna and a couple of others.”

It would not have been the first time that Salman and SRK would have shared the silver screen. Having already starred in two blockbusters, Karan Arjun and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and the Madhuri Dixit starrer Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam. The industry was buzzing with the news of this onscreen jodi.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time the pair has gone to war either. The two exchanged words in 2002 on the sets of Chalte Chalte when Salman came to meet Aishwarya Rai, who was at the time co-starring with SRK in the film. It was apparently this incident that led to Ash being ousts from the production and being replaced with Rani Mukerji.

The two Khans eventually made up during Farah Khan’s wedding sangeet in 2004. It was all smooth sailing until the recent incident at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in July 2008.

Hopefully, with the recent reconciliations that Salman has been going through he may add Shah Rukh to that list. Wishful thinking? I hope not.
