Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 6 is now four weeks old! The challenge of the week was family, and the participants made sure they blended the beautiful emotions and relations that they share with their family in a way that the judges feel their performances from within.

The performances commenced with the all-time rockstars Lauren and Punit, who gave an enthralling contemporary performance based on Lauren’s bond with her father. As flawless as ever, their act was soothing and full of feelings, and the duo scored 30 on 30. To take this series of emotionally beautiful performances further, Siddharth and Sonia came up to describe what Siddharth’s mom means to him through a freestyle and hip-hop combined act. Siddharth’s hip-hop was not as clean as it should have come out, but nonetheless it was something that suited him, as the judges also said. This couple scored 24 on 30. Next up were Shaan and Marischa with another performance to look forward to. Their freestyle act on the 3 Idiots song All Is Well, dubbed by Shaan’s sons, was totally loved by one and all and they scored 27.

Raanjhana stars Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush graced the sets and spent some good time meeting all the contestants and the judges. The next performance was by Ekta and Tushar, where Ekta depicted her bond with her sister through contemporary. Sonam really liked the act as it reminded her of her bond with her sister Rhea, while Dhanush said he also shares a very strong bond with his elder brother. The duo scored 26.

This week, the danger zone had Meghna Malleik and Karanvir Bohra compete for Jaan Ke Liye Dance, and Meghna got eliminated.

The performances continued next day with a lovely performance by Sumanth and Sonali, a freestyle act depicting their friendship since they both stay away from their homes, and they have indeed developed a family-like bond. With just a little problem as Sonali was forgetting her steps, this duo managed a 26 on 30. Shweta and Sushant took over the stage with a contemporary act, describing the problems of a working mother. Shweta’s contemporary attempt was appreciated by the judges, and her concept was really touching as she has had to go through this struggle while bringing up her daughter Palak. However, she announced her marriage to boyfriend Abhinav next month and her happiness was evident. This couple scored a 23 out of 30. The next act was Karanvir Bohra and Sneha, who depicted Karanvir and his wife Teejay’s love story through waltz. It was indeed a very beautifully performed act and the couple scored 27.

Vidya Balan came to the sets with a Ghanchakkar bang and danced to Oo La La and Lazy Lad with Madhuri Dixit. It was indeed such an adorable moment to see the smiling diva groove to Vidya’s raunchy numbers with her.

Then was the performance that blew minds and received huge rounds of applause. Drashti and Salman’s acrobacia was the performance of the day! Drashti looked completely stunning as she confidently performed on stage and the flawless attitude of the duo totally sweeped a 30 on 30. As for the choreography, this was finally a Salman level ka performance! Vidya Balan said that it was the best live performance that she has ever watched and surely a lot of people agreed with her!

Aarti and Cornel came up with a contemporary act through which Aarti depicted her love for her mother by making a picture using blocks as a prop, just like the one of Mother Mary and baby Jesus. Her first attempt at contemporary was appreciated by the judges and the couple managed 24 on 30.

This family special week not only saw some deep connections between the participants and their family, but also our judges. Karan Johar’s mother sent an adorable video message for him, and the filmmaker was moved to tears as he spoke about how much his mother means to him. Remo D’souza’s wife and children surprised him by visiting the sets, and his joy knew no bounds when his son proudly said,” I don’t know how good a choreographer or director he is, but he is definitely the best dad.” Also, visiting the sets was the man who stole the heart of that diva, who has stolen innumerable hearts. Yes, Dr. Sriram Nene proposed to his lovely wife Madhuri yet again on the stage, and she smiled and said, “Yes.”

This was another week full of power packed performances, tears of joy and love and emotions difficult to express in words. Jhalak’s family week ended with the next week’s challenge being different props that are used in our daily life, like a knife or a broom. With enthusiastic participants and innovative choreographers, let’s see how the coming week turns out to be!
