The epic film Jodhaa Akbar directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, after many extra days of shooting, is finally complete. The last shot was for a song sequence and a source close to the set said: “On that day Ashutosh shot for an elaborately choreographed song that includes various dance forms at ND Studios, Karjat.”

The song is called ‘Azeem O Shah’ Shahenshah and included Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai. It was shot for over 13 days and has over 1,000 dancers. Rekha and Chinni Prakash choreographed the song that used specially trained dancers with swords and shields. Drummers who [sic] called from the South.”

The director was so pleased with the performance of the dancers he decided to award the best dancers of each troupe with a prize. “They were shocked when he gave them the money. The song has different types of dances and each troupe had practiced well in advance.”

The cast and crew were of course emotional that their journey of shooting the massive film had come to an end. “Hrithik was seen mingling with every one from the spot boys to the technical crew. He spoke to the owner of his horse, Chandni, as he’d got very fond of her. He told him to take good care of her. Hrithik spent a lot of time with Chandni during the initial days of the shoot. He would train with her and rehearse the battlefield scenes,” the source said.

Adding, “Ashutosh is planning a farewell party for his cast and crew some time this week though he hasn’t yet decided on the date.”

Jodhaa Akbar hits theaters on the 25th of January.
