John Abraham, recently chosen as sexiest male by popular Eastern Eye magazine, says he is in awe of Aamir Khan’s body in Ghajini. “I may be fit but when I look at Aamir Khan and the way he has developed his body just for a role, it scares me,” he says, “We actors should take a leaf out of his book and look at how he has changed cinema in this country.”
John is still reveling in the success of his latest outing Dostana but is nervous of the attention currently being directed towards his appearance. “I’m never ashamed of talking about my body. Though at times I do feel like a meat shop,” he says.
There’s certainly plenty of eye candy in his next movie as John stars opposite Katrina Kaif in New York – an Adi Chopra film about terrorism. What’s it like working with Katrina? “Katrina is a wonderful person,” he confirms, “She’s absolutely stunning and a great co-star. It was fun working with her in the film, she’s a person who’s not only got a great on-screen presence but an off-screen one as well.”
It’s still unclear when John’s other movie on the launching pad, Aashayein, will be released. It’s the story of a gambling addict who receives some terrible news about himself. He stars opposite Sonal Sehgal. What does he know about the delay? “I don’t really know what’s going there,” he replies, “I’m busy with my own shooting schedules. I guess some negotiations are going on, and the movie should be out sometime soon.”
