Veteran filmmaker K. C. Bokadia’s latest release Teesri Begum is creating a silent stir in certain cities. Its provocative theme of the radicalization of Hindu women through Muslim marriages has rung a bell in the Hindutva belt, and Bokadia who in his heydays produced and directed blockbusters such as Aaj Ka Arjun and Pyar Jhukta Nahin ,is over the moon with the response.

“We released Teesri Begum in selected cities only. The audience especially women have gone crazy over the film. They are coming back repeatedly to see how Hindu women fight back after they are radicalized by their Muslim husband,” says Bokadia.

Bokadia had to fight the censor board to preserve his film’s content. “They especially objected to chants of Jai Shri Rama in some places in the narrative. I told them I won’t release the film if these holy chants are removed. The country is not going to be cowed down anymore by radicalization threats. This is a new generation of Indians who love and respect their religion and culture. Teesri Begum is a clarion call.”

Bokadia is getting threats from certain sections of the people who object to Muslims being shown as radicalists. But he is not scared. “The whole country is with me. What can these rogue elements do to harm me?”

Teesri Begum is written, directed, and produced by veteran filmmaker K. C. Bokadia. Released in theaters on 22 May 2026, the movie sheds light on the lives of three blighted women, one Hindu and two Muslim, finding strength in adversity and escaping deceptive and toxic marital traps.
