Kajol’s father, Shomu Mukherjee has passed away

It is with sadness that we must report that Kajol’s father, Shomu Mukherjee, passed away at 8 am this morning. The 75 year old had been in ill health for a while and it is being reported that he had a heart attack.

Shomu Mukherjee was married to Tanuja and along with Kajol, they also had another daughter Tanisha. Mr. Mukherjee was a producer and director and owned Filmalaya Studios. He was well known for his films Chhaliya Babu, Patthar Ke Insaan and Lover Boy to name a few. His last film was 1994’s Sang Dil Sanam, which starred Salman Khan and Manisha Koirala.
