Kangana Ranaut appears to have gained more than a salary cheque from the movie Kites with Hrithik Roshan and Mexican Barbara Mori. She’s been seen around Mumbai with Barbara Mori’s brother playing out their own Bollywood romance. “Kangana began bonding with Kintaro even when she was dating Adhyayan Suman,” says a source, “Her close friendship to Kintaro is said to be one of the major reasons for her and Suman’s breakup. The duo have been spotted all around the town – be it at dinner or at nightclubs.”
Kangana is also working hard on her career at the moment. She’s in Lucknow filming for Tanu Weds Manu with R Madhavan one minute and the next she’s down south promoting her first Telegu film with Prabhas, Ek Niranjan. “I had to work extra hard for my Telegu movie and I’m happy with the way it turned out,” she says, “Whenever I was given the script, it was translated for me into either English or Hindi. That helped me to get the emotions right.”
Kangana has a fascinating portfolio of movies lined up for release next year including Once Upon A Time in Mumbai with Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi and Prachi Desai, in which she plays a character based on Madhubala. It’s set in the Mumbai underworld of the sixties and seventies and is already shaping up to be a classic. Then there’s Knockout, in which she appears as famed TV journalist Barkha Dutt and the comic caper No Problem, set in South Africa, with Sushmita Sen and rapidly-rising Mumbai-based German actress Suzanne Bernert.
