Bollywood’s reigning queen, Kangana Ranaut, has come a long way since her debut in Gangster (2006). She has overcome many roadblocks and has emerged victorious against all odds. Looking back, Kangana admits that she dislikes the obstacles faced but loves the journey, since it has made her what she is today.

Speaking about her hard work and dedication, Kangana says, “Mine has been a journey of a thousand miles. I didn’t fly first class into Mumbai. I have travelled in buses, taxis and trains, and even walked a lot. I have slept on the pavement, since I didn’t have a house. I have been caught in traps, so I had to lodge complaints against people. I have seen the ugly side. On the other hand, I have also been awarded by the President twice.”

The actress, who is one of highest paid actresses in Bollywood, also spoke about the desire to document her journey in an autobiography. She revealed, “When I came to Mumbai, I was a small-town girl, and didn’t know anything. But here I am today, utilizing all those things and making a difference on such a big platform. Everything that worked against me initially has turned in my favour. I’d like to write about it (her story) someday”.

“I think I will first let my journey reach a point, where I can say, ‘Okay, I feel a little more stable.’ Also, probably, my personal life will have to be included (laughs). Right now, I don’t have many plot points. I am a successful, career-oriented woman, but something more must be there. So maybe, when more things happen, I can have parallel stories running. Let’s see,” she added.

Kangana has proved that one needs to persevere to achieve great things in life. Here’s wishing the actress all the best for her upcoming films.
