Kangana Ranaut has signed up for Aanand L Rai’s comedy Tanu Weds Manu and will star opposite R.Madhavan in the movie that will start shooting in September. “Aanand is my kind of director because for him what holds utmost importance is a concrete storyline,” Madhavan said, “I was simply blown away with what Aanand narrated to me around Tanu Weds Manu and had no hesitation in signing for the film.”
Tanu Weds Manu is not the only comedy that the normally serious Kangana is currently involved in – she’s also working on the multi-starrer No Problem that also features Anil Kapoor, Akshaye Khanna, Sushmita Sen and Neetu Chandra. Her rapport on set with Sushmita Sen has become legendary with Sush labelling her as Minnie Mouse. “I enjoyed spending girl-time with Sushmita, who nicknamed me Minnie Mouse because of my hairdo for the role I play, which has bangs and two pony tails…and probably because I wore a lot of pink…and she thought it looked so cute,” Kangana confirmed.
Meanwhile, Kangana will also be pairing up with Hrithik Roshan to appear on Farah Khan’s TV show Tere Mere Beech Mein to promote their new movie Kites in which Hrithik plays a salsa instructor in the US and Kangana plays a rich student. Mexican telenovela star Barbara Mori also stars in the film.
