Kangna Ranaut is all set to play a gangsters moll once again in Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout At Lokhandwala but unlike her role in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Kangana, which was glamorous, she will be a beautiful plain jane in this movie. The actress says, “I am playing a simple Maharastrian girl in the film and my look is based on the 70’s and 80’s and will not be glamorous in this film. My look is based more on the lines of actresses of that era like Smita Patil, Rekha and Shabana Azmi. I have watched their films and have been inspired by them. The role does not lend itself to high-fashion or going over the top.”

For Kangana, playing a gangster’s love interest is not new. The actress has done various roles based on the subject right from her debut venture Gangster. So when asked if she is attracted to such roles or is it a mere coincidence that she is chosen for such roles the actress replies, “I have never planned playing such roles deliberately, it’s a mere coincidence and I think the don’s like me. The directors approach me for such roles and I like them.”

However Kangna says that this film is really special to her. “I really wanted to be a part of it. It’s a huge franchise and a fabulous role. So it doesn’t matter how many times in the past I played a gangster’s girlfriend” she quips.
