Not only is he a beloved director and chat show host but Karan Johar has always had a unique eye and talent for fashion, especially menswear. The style maven is known for being exceptionally well dressed and he even designed the wardrobe for Shah Rukh Khan in films like Om Shanti Om and Dil To Pagal Hai. And now men who would like to have an outfit designed by K.Jo. don’t have to be superstars! The fashion line he designed with Varun Bahl, called ‘Karan Johar + Varun Bahl,’ is now ready for business. At the Aza-hosted launch party, attended by such Bollywood socialites as Bhagyashree, who is still looking fabulous at 40, and Rahul Khanna, who wore a charming bow-tie look, the two men said, “The Karan Johar + Varun Bahl label will be distinguished by careful detailing, subtle sophistication and stylistic innovations. This collaboration allows both of us to bring to life our ideas and thoughts for the stylish urban male. We are very excited with what we have done and hope people will like what we offer.”

Their line was first spotted during 2009’s HDIL Couture Week and the pair aim for a world class style – understated and subtle but with an edge. This isn’t your father’s suit! Already young trendsetters like Imran Khan have embraced the line – he wore a black bandgala sherwani that had been on the runway for Mumbai Couture Week at his engagement in January.

But films remain Karan’s number one priority. He is hard at work on the remake of Stepmom, starring Kareena Kapoor, Kajol, and Arjun Rampal. And we can be guaranteed that they will all look fabulous!
