If we were to assess an actor based on hits and flops, then Katrina Kaif takes the cake for being the most successful actress over the last year or so. With hits like Namastey London, Race and Welcome under her belt, she is being approached by loads of filmmakers who hope to take a whiff of her good luck.
But the problem is, in all her films (except for Namastey London), Katrina hasn’t had any roles that have really allowed her to prove herself as an actress. In fact, she only dubbed for herself in Namastey London.
Finally, it seems like she is taking a step in the right direction with Kabir Khan’s next directional venture. He earlier directed the daring Kabul Express which, like his new film, was produced by Yash Raj Films. The film will co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham along with Katrina.
She tells Mumbai Mirror, “This film will take me into a different world altogether. Masala films definitely made me popular and I’ll continue to count on them to sustain my career. But now I feel the desire to challenge myself as an actor.” About time?
