A few months ago when Priyanka Chopra appeared on a talk show, she claimed that Katrina Kaif and her were good friends. In fact when they both were beginning their careers, the girls even went to the same dance class. So when we learn that Katrina Kaif walks out of a film because Priyanka Chopra is a part of the star cast, you cannot help but begin to question their so-called “friendship.” Kaif had shown interest and even agreed to be a part if Anurag Basu’s next but opted out immediately once she heard Priyanka was a part of the cast.
According to a close source to Kaif, “When Katrina agreed to do Anurag Basu’s film with Ranbir, no mention was made of another heroine, and certainly not of Priyanka. However, when word about this reached her, she found the whole idea of the credit titles reading ‘Ranbir-Katrina-Priyanka’ too gimmicky. Not that she has anything against Priyanka or any other co-star.”
However, rumors also have it that Kaif had been working behind the scenes very hard to obtain rights for a French film which she finally received. And thus, she needs time to work on this personal and close to her heart project. In the film, she will be playing a “scheming gold-digger.” Apparently the actress is eager to play a negative role and show her more vampy side.
Kaif is currently working on Farah Khan’s Tees Marr Khan and also has Zoya Akhtar’s next and Dostana 2 in her kitty.
