Having already played Buddha, Matrix actor Keanu Reeves appears to be now set to play the role of Rama in the Hollywood movie Hanuman, directed by Chuck Russell of The Mask. Shooting is expected to begin in Rajasthan next month. Gary Oldman is predicted to play Ravana and Aamir Khan could be Hanuman but has still yet to formally sign up. “Aamir wants to sign every page of the script to ensure no changes happen during shooting,” Says a source, “Only then will he agree to play Hanuman.” Earlier, it was suggested that Shilpa Shetty might play Sita but she has apparently backed out and the search is now on for a new Sita.

Meanwhile, if Aamir wants to be seen flying along Adam’s Bridge between India and Sri Lanka as Hanuman, he may need to lose a little weight. He has apparently recently put on a stone as he has had little time for exercise during his wife Kiran’s unfortunate miscarriage. The couple are now holidaying in Europe and Aamir hopes to get back in shape to do a musical number with Kareena Kapoor for 3 Idiots on September 21st.

Aamir is well-known for his interest in South movies – Ghajini for example – and recently showered praise in his blog on Rajendra Prasad’s new movie Quick Gun Murugan. “Just saw Quick Gun Muruga. Really enjoyed it,” he blogged, “I think fans of the Channel ‘V’ character Quick Gun Murugan will love it. It`s got so many rib-cracking moments. And a very well pitched performance by the lead actor Dr Rajendra Prasad, and the other cast. Don`t miss it if you are a Quick Gun fan. Mind it.”
