After being caught in the dip of the post-Mumbai raid with Dil Kabaddi, Konkona Sen Sharma is back with two strong contenders in The President is Coming and Luck by Chance. Of the two, she is perhaps more proud of the small budget The President is Coming. It’s the story of President Bush’s 2006 visit to India. The American embassy organises a competition, the winner of which will get to shake the President’s hand as the ‘future of India’. It’s already being described in some quarters as a comic masterpiece.

But Konkona readily admits that it’s her big budget movies such as Life in a Metro and Omkara which she needs to move forward in the public eye. Luck by Chance is the latest of these multi-starrers. “Now I do a lot of niche movies. This is my thing,” she explains, “I did Aaja Nachle but it didn’t do well. But I had the best time on Aaja Nachle and I think it’s a great movie. But I’m more known for films like Page 3 and Omkara.”

Konkona talks very highly of her co-star in Luck by Chance, Farhan Akhtar. “He’s so good,” she says, “I mean since he knows the technical aspects of film making and he has been behind the camera. He’s at ease, he knows what’s happening, how to adjust the look or whether it’s taking the light, or the positioning or helping the DOP. I know none of these things, so I’m quite a dud.”
