This was the day when Kriti Kharbanda saw the release of her biggest film till date, Housefull 4. The Sajid Nadiadwala comedy franchise took a good start and then sky rocketed post Diwali, hence emerging as a major superhit. That when it was almost written off post release and had to fight it out with ton loads of criticism and quite a few detractors.
29th October 2020 – Now exactly one year later, the actress would be seen in Taish which belongs to an altogether different space, stage and setting. An action thriller with an emotional appeal to it, this one sees Kriti in a far different avtar, something that would help her demonstrate another facet of her acting style.
“This is the way Kriti has built her career; she has never restricted herself to any genre,” says a close associate, “Think of it, she actually started her career in Bollywood with a horror film Raaz – Reboot. Before that she had already done around 15 films down south and had been versatile there as well.”
In Taish, she plays a young woman names Aafra who goes through a roller coaster ride, courtesy the series of events that take place around her that impacts her, as well as her friends and family.
“It would be a whole new Kriti in Taish,” our source from the film informs, “In any case, director Bejoy Nambiar doesn’t restrict his actors to any image. Look at the kind of films that he has done where he has brought an altogether different set of actors. Even Amitabh Bachchan was so different in Wazir and so was Farhan Akhtar. Now he has made Taish which is an ensemble affair and everyone, be it Kriti, Pulkit [Samrat], Harshvardhan [Rane] or Jim [Sarbh]; everyone would be enacting a kind of character that they have never before.”
With Taish set to release in the film as well as the web series version on ZEE5, one waits to catch Kriti Kharbanda in action once the streaming begins on 29th October.
