At a time when realistic cinema is doing the rounds in Bollywood, one rarely gets to see an out-and-out romantic comedy. Finally, the wait is over. Debutant director, Lovely Singh, who previously assisted Satish Kaushik during Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, brings together Tusshar Kapoor and Ayesha Takia onscreen for the very first time in what promises to be a youthful romantic comedy, Kya Love Story Hai. After starting the year off with some average soundtracks, Pritam returns with some sugar coated tracks supported by Shabbir Ahmed’s sweet lyrics.
Miss You Everyday starts it off on the dance floor. It is a fun and catchy track that only gets better with Shaan’s vocals. The song repeats itself with a more energetic Remix version.
It’s Rocking is likely to be the chartbuster of this soundtrack. Alisha Chinoy takes over the mic in this youthful track that mixes together some Indian and Western beats. The video for this track is currently the hot trailer seen on television which features Kareena Kapoor in an item number.
Gumsum Hai Dil Mera seems to be influenced by the 60s music style as Sonu Nigam renders this slow track. The track offers nothing new and lacks to keep the listeners interested.
Aye Khuda is a rock number sung impressively by Kunal Ganjawala. It is a Sufi-influenced track with great rhythm in the form of tabla beats. Kunal’s vocals just take the song into a whole new level; the man never disappoints.
Deewana Teri Aankhon Ka falls under the hip hop and reggae genre that will soon creep into the music charts. Joy and Jojo excel in their rendition of the song and get the listeners rocking away. With effective choreography, this song has the potential to be a hit.
Jeena Kya Tere Bina brings back Zubeen Garg from ‘Ya Ali’ fame and though it does not compare to the latter, the track is reasonably good. The song will be liked for its emotional lyrics and equally expressive rendition fused together with a mixture of Sufi and pop rhythms. The Remix version is more or less the same.
Pritam seems to be going through a laid back period these days as his music does not have the usual excitement. The soundtrack of Kya Love Story Hai provides nothing amazing but it is worth a listen as Pritam does produce some catchy tunes that are always appreciated by music lovers.
